Green homes grant scheme
The Green Homes Grant was introduced in July 2020 by chancellor Rishi Sunak to help homeowners make their homes more energy efficient. It is set to launch in September 2020.
Vouchers worth up to £5,000 will be issued to homeowners in England to make their homes more energy efficient under a new Government scheme.
EnergySaviourltd.co.uk will send the latest information to all who registered an interest to let you be the first in the queue.
As part of the Green Homes Grant, eligible homeowners will be able to apply for the vouchers to help pay for environmentally friendly improvements such as installing double-glazing, loft, floor and wall insulation.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak outlined the plans in his statement in July as part of a wider £3bn plan to cut emissions. The Government has put aside £2 billion for green home upgrades.
There are 29 million homes in the UK, almost all could benefit from additional insulation or improved energy efficiency in some way.
With 2 billion pounds available it is anticipated up to 650,000 homes will benefit from the scheme which is just 2%.
It is anticipated the fund will be heavily subscribed so get ahead of the game and register your interest now.
Having already started the process will give you the best change of securing a voucher.

What do the vouchers cover?
The vouchers can pay for "green improvements"
Households will need to install at least one of the primary measures below to qualify for funding.
Primary measures:
Insulation: Solid wall, cavity wall, under-floor, loft, flat roof, room in roof, park home.
Low carbon heat: Air source heat pump, ground source heat pump, solar thermal
“Top ups” are allowed (e.g. additional loft insulation up to the recommended level, solid wall insulation for other walls where a wall has been previously insulated), but replacements are not included.
Secondary measures:
Draught proofing
Windows and doors: Double/triple glazing (where replacing single glazing), secondary glazing (in addition to single glazing), upgrading to energy efficient doors (where replacing doors installed prior to 2002).
Heating controls and insulation: appliance thermostats, hot water tank thermostats, hot water tank insulation, smart heating controls, zone controls, delayed start thermostat, thermostatic radiator valves
For low-carbon heating to be installed, households will need to have adequate insulation (e.g. wall and loft, where applicable). These can be installed as part of a package – they do not have to already be in situ.
So long as there is at least one primary measure in the package of works, households will also be able to install secondary measures. Secondary measures can only be subsidised up to the amount of subsidy provided for primary measures. (e.g. if a household receives £1,000 for primary measures, they can only receive a maximum of £1,000 towards secondary measures).
How much will the vouchers be worth?
For most homeowners, the vouchers will be worth about two-thirds of the cost of the energy efficient improvements, up to a maximum of £5,000 per household. For example, a homeowner installing cavity wall and floor insulation costing £4,000 would only pay about £1,320, with the Government contributing the remaining £2,680 through the voucher scheme.
But for those on low incomes will be able to get more. The Government will cover the full cost of the energy efficient improvements, and the vouchers could be worth up to £10,000 per household. So you won't have to pay anything.
Green improvements such as insulation will also help cut your energy bills, with the Government saying families could be able to save hundreds of pounds a year as a result.
